I live in Kanpur—a city that never seems to rest. The air hums with the sound of looms and machines, the smell of leather and dye drifting from the old mills that once made this the “Manchester of the East.” The Ganges flows quietly nearby, carrying prayers, ashes, and stories of generations who have sought meaning in its waters.
Here in Kanpur, life feels raw and real. Laborers rise before dawn, children weave through traffic selling trinkets, and students chase dreams in overcrowded classrooms. The mix of struggle and determination is everywhere. Yet beneath the busyness, I sense a deep hunger—an ache for something lasting, something pure.
As I walk past the railway platforms where families sleep and young boys polish shoes for a few rupees, I often whisper prayers. “Jesus, let Your light reach here.” This city, so full of grit and survival, needs the tenderness of the Savior.
India is vast and varied, but even in this one city, you can glimpse the whole nation’s soul—resilient, colorful, and searching. I believe God has placed His people here for such a time as this—to love without fear, to serve without pride, and to pray until revival breaks out among factory workers, students, and families.
I’m here to stay, to follow Jesus through the narrow lanes and crowded markets, believing that His peace can reach even the hardest corners of Kanpur. One heart at a time, I know He is writing a new story here.
- Pray for the workers and laborers in Kanpur’s leather, textile, and industrial sectors — that amid long hours and economic pressure, they would encounter the rest, dignity, and love found in Jesus.
- Pray for the next generation — students, apprentices, and street children — that they would not be lost to despair or exploitation, but be rescued and rooted in hope and purpose through Christ.
- Pray for the Ganges River communities, where tradition and ritual run deep, that true cleansing and renewal would come through the living water of Jesus.
- Pray and lift up the leaders and workers in our churches and movements, asking God to strengthen them with courage, discernment, and supernatural protection as they disciple others and plant communities of faith.
- Pray for believers in Kanpur to live with bold compassion — serving the poor, praying for the sick, and showing Christ’s kindness in every sphere of life.
- Pray for spiritual awakening — that hardened hearts would soften, and Kanpur would be known not only for industry, but for revival — a city where Jesus’ name is honored and His presence transforms lives.
