10 Days is a tangible step of obedience toward the answer to Jesus’ prayer in John 17:21: “Let them be one as We [the Father and the Son] are one.”  This is about seeing Jesus receive the answer to His dying wish, for the John 17 unity of His followers.  “Jesus gets what He prays for!”

10 Days is a call to stop and rest in the presence of God.  It includes worship, prayer, fasting, and fellowship among believers with a focus on repentance, humility, praying for God’s promises, and mourning for our sins and the state of our world.

It’s a call to take a break from what’s normal on earth so we can enter into what’s normal in heaven. Revelation chapters 4-5 describe the kind of worship that’s normal in heaven.  10 Days is a call to take vacation time from what’s normal to us, to fast from ordinary life and daily distractions in order to see what’s normal in heaven happen here on earth.

It’s rooted in the 10 “Days of Awe” between the biblical Feasts of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement.  These feasts prophetically foreshadow the second coming. Therefore, 10 Days is also a time of longing for the return of Jesus Christ.

Keys to Praying for Jews

Jerusalem, a holy site of pilgrimage for the three Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, is a hotbed for religious and ethnic conflict, as well as geopolitical positioning. Jews are seen pressing up against the wailing wall in anticipation of the coming Messiah who will rebuild the temple, while Muslims visit the site where they believe Muhammed ascended to heaven and was given requirements for prayer and pilgrimage.

Ask the Holy Spirit to humble the hearts of the Jewish people to be able to see their need for salvation and to recognize and receive Jesus Christ as the promised Messiah according to the scriptures.
(1 Cor. 1:26-31)
Pray for Father God to deliver and heal Jews from historical woundings, including the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the Holocaust, which are barriers to the Gospel since Jews often perceive them as being justified in the name of Christianity.
(Matt. 6:14-15)
Lord Jesus, reveal Your worth to Jews as being so much greater than their deep sense of cultural and religious heritage so that they pursue knowing You with their whole hearts.
(Phil. 3:7-14)
Pray that Jews recognize that even faith is a gift from God and that salvation is by God's grace, not through works nor anything we can do.
(Ephesians 2:8-10)
Pray for God to remove hard hearts and for God's law to be written on the hearts of Jewish people through the Holy Spirit, as it reflects the fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:33.
