Mount Kailash, Kathmandu
What does it mean to follow Jesus when your whole world is shaped by the mountains, family traditions, and sacred places around you?
High above the clouds, the Himalayas stretch across five countries. Families who live here grow food on steep hillsides, care for animals, and work together through cold winters and changing weather. For many Hindu people, the mountains are holy or sacred. Mount Kailash, in Tibet near Nepal and India, is especially important because many Hindus believe their gods live there. Culture, faith, and traditions are connected to the landscape. As you begin today’s journey, pray that people across these mountain communities will know that Jesus sees them, loves them, and invites them close.

For ages 6–8: Can you find these five things in the image? Mountain peaks, yaks, winding paths, homes, and rope bridges.
For ages 9–12: Which detail tells you the most about daily life here?
“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
Psalm 121:1-2
What does it mean? God invites us to pray with hope for people everywhere.
Try it: tap one important word to circle it. Then draw a tiny picture on paper to help you remember it.
Lord, thank you that even the highest mountains are not too far for you to reach people. You say your love is higher than the highest mountain and deep as the deepest ocean for your people. Thank you for the people who live in Mount Kailash. Send people so that they may know that you love them. Just as I am learning that you love ME that much! You’ve made us all special and unique! Thank you for your creativity! Bless the people of Mount Kailash with your love and presence. Amen.
Tap each prayer star after you pray.
Pray for the pilgrims on sacred paths. Pray that they would find the one true God even though they are seeking other gods. May they encounter Jesus along the way and set their hearts and lives on Him.
Pray that Hindu families will have opportunities to hear the good news of Jesus in ways they can understand. Pray seeds would be planted and produce a harvest a hundred fold.
Pray for boldness and provision for Christians who are sharing their faith. Pray that God would lead them to people eager to know Him and that their work would not be in vain.
Pray that families will have enough food, warmth, safety and strength during difficult weather. Pray that they do not reject family members who convert to Christianity. Pray their hearts are opened to know Jesus.
Nepal is constitutionally secular and people may practice their religion, but its laws restrict conversion and attempts to persuade someone to change religion, which can make public Christian witness difficult. Pray for Christians and unbelievers alike. That laws would change and people would come to know Jesus despite the persecution.

Your prayer is saved on this device, so it will still be here when you come back. Nobody else can see it unless a grown-up helps you share it.
