나는 번화한 거리를 걷는다 Athens, where ancient marble ruins stand beside glass towers, and the echoes of philosophers still mingle with the hum of modern life. This city—once the cradle of reason, art, and democracy—still pulses with creativity and conversation. Yet beneath its beauty and brilliance, I feel a quiet ache, a hunger that human wisdom can’t satisfy.

Athens is a city of contrasts. Refugees, immigrants, and Greeks of every generation fill the neighborhoods, yet few have truly heard the Good News. Once a city known for idols and altars, Athens now wrestles with apathy and secularism. Only a tiny fraction—less than 0.3%—follow Jesus passionately. The harvest is vast, but the workers are few.

As I pass the Parthenon and watch the sun fade over the hills, I pray that the same Spirit who stirred hearts on Mars Hill would move again in this city. I imagine small house churches multiplying, prayers rising from apartments and cafés, and the Gospel flowing through every language and community. Athens gave the world philosophy—but now I long to see it give the world the wisdom of God revealed in Christ Jesus.

I believe God is not done with this city. The same God who once turned the world upside down through a few disciples can do it again—right here, in Athens.
