Kingdom Growth — From a Small Seed to a Tree
In 2017, the Lao national church embraced a multiplication approach to making disciples and planting churches. With more than 200 ethno-linguistic groups among 7.5 million people, reaching every community seemed an impossible task.
But like a mustard seed, what began small has grown.
Over the past several years, disciple-makers have been sent systematically to every people group. Some were expelled or detained by police. Yet in many places, the gospel took root, new disciples emerged, and churches were planted. As Lao leaders discovered God’s heart for every people, they began taking greater risks, traveling into remote villages to carry the message of Christ.
Now, the Kingdom is multiplying into new generations. In several provinces, churches have multiplied beyond the fourth generation. And the movement is crossing borders as Lao leaders partner with disciples in a neighboring country to bring the gospel to communities where the Good News had never before been heard.
