I live in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh in central India. Though not as large as some other Indian cities, Bhopal holds deep spiritual weight. Here stands the Taj-ul-Masjid—the largest mosque in India. Every year, thousands of Muslims from across the country flood into our city for a three-day pilgrimage. The sound of prayers over loudspeakers fills the air, and it reminds me daily of the longing in people’s hearts for truth and peace.

India itself is vast and diverse, with hundreds of languages, ethnic groups, and traditions. Our history is full of both brilliance and brokenness—arts, sciences, philosophies, and yet so many layers of division: caste, religion, rich and poor. These fractures often feel overwhelming, and here in Bhopal, I see them play out in everyday life.

But what weighs most heavily on my heart are the children. India has more abandoned little ones than any other nation—over 30 million. Many wander the streets and railways even here in my city, searching for food, for family, for love. When I see them, I remember that Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me.”

This is the hope I cling to in Bhopal. That amid the prayers echoing from the mosques, the cries of orphans on the streets, and the divisions in our society, the voice of Jesus will be heard. And that His church, though small, will rise with compassion and courage to step into the harvest fields before us.

- Pray that the countless Muslims who come to Bhopal each year for pilgrimage would encounter the living Christ, who alone satisfies the longing of their souls.
- Pray for the children of Bhopal—especially the orphans wandering streets and railway stations—to be embraced by God’s love and brought into safe families of faith.
- Pray that the small but growing church in Bhopal would be bold and compassionate, serving the poor, crossing caste divides, and shining the light of Jesus in word and deed.
- Pray for unity among believers in this city, that together we might be a clear witness of God’s Kingdom in a place filled with spiritual searching.
- Pray for the Spirit of God to break through the strongholds of division, poverty, and false religion in Bhopal, and for many to bow their knees to Jesus as Lord.
