Justin is an incredibly talented young Indonesian writer. He overcame the massive challenges of autism, difficulty speaking, and daily struggles to publish his first book at the age of 8. Despite his difficulties, Justin uses his writing to inspire and encourage others worldwide, turning his challenges into a source of strength.

Justin has written our daily thoughts and themes for the Prayer Guide and trusts that each one of us is blessed, comforted and encouraged by them.

Moet nooit ooit jou drome opgee nie! Ek is Justin Gunawan van Indonesië.

Today I want to talk about dreams. Everyone, young and old has dreams.

Ek het 'n droom om 'n spreker en 'n skrywer te wees... maar die lewe is nie altyd glad nie. Die pad is nie altyd duidelik nie.

I was diagnosed with a severe speech disorder. I didn’t really speak until I was five years old. Hours and hours of therapy have brought me to where I am now, though it’s still choppy and I have difficulties.

Het ek ooit selfbejammering?
Voel ek jammer vir myself?
Gee ek ooit moed op met my droom?

No! It’s only made me work harder and harder.

Laat ek eerlik met jou wees, af en toe ja.

Ek kan dalk gefrustreerd, moeg en 'n bietjie moedeloos raak met my situasie.

So wat doen ek gewoonlik? Haal asem, rus en ontspan
maar moet nooit moed opgee nie!

Justin is op twee met outisme gediagnoseer. Hy kon nie praat tot vyf nie. Hy het weekliks 40 uur terapie ondergaan. Hy is nie deur 15 skole aanvaar voordat hy uiteindelik een gevind het nie. Op sewe is sy skryfvaardigheid op slegs 0.1 persent beoordeel, maar sy ma se pogings om hom te leer hoe om 'n potlood vas te hou en te skryf, het vrugte afgewerp. Teen agt is Justin se skryfwerk deur 'n nasionale uitgewer gepubliseer.
