Migrant workers in India live lives marked by hardship, struggle, and resilience. Leaving behind their families, homes, and villages in search of daily wages, they travel to crowded cities and unfamiliar towns like Kolkata—often facing exploitation, poor living conditions, and social neglect. Recent human rights research suggests that 600 million Indians—nearly half the population—are internal migrants, with 60 million crossing state borders. They often hope for a better future for their children, the hope of returning home with dignity, and the hope that someone will see their worth.

God Sees.

But not all pain comes from movement — some is buried deep within. In hearts clouded by shame, fear, and silence, God still sees…

How Can We

PRAY?

Pray that the Lord will comfort the hearts of families left behind in villages, especially children, spouses, and the elderly. May they be filled with hope and not despair. May Jesus heal broken hearts and sustain these families with love, provision, and community support.

“God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing.” Psalm 68:6

May God raise up voices of justice on behalf of migrant workers. May they find dignity in their labor and be treated with fairness and respect. May doors open for education, skills training, and opportunities that uplift their futures and break cycles of poverty.

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.” Proverbs 31:8
