Have you ever walked past someone who needed help? Maybe you weren’t sure what to do, or you were in a hurry. In Jesus’ day, a man was walking down a dangerous road when robbers attacked him and left him badly hurt. Two important religious people walked by — and did nothing. But then a Samaritan came along. Samaritans and Jewish people didn’t usually get along, so nobody expected him to stop. But he did! He bandaged the man’s wounds, put him on his own donkey, took him to an inn, and even paid for his care.
Jesus told this story to answer a big question: “Who is my neighbour?” The answer? Everyone who needs help is our neighbour! Jesus doesn’t just want us to love the people who are like us, or the people we already know. He wants us to cross the road, stop what we’re doing, and choose to be kind — even when it’s hard.
Today, ask God to give you eyes that notice people who need help. Because following Jesus means choosing kindness every single day.
Yangon is Myanmar’s biggest city, buzzing with golden temples, river markets, and millions of people. Many children here have known hard times because of conflict and poverty. But followers of Jesus are sharing His kindness every day — through schools, food programmes, and love that crosses every boundary.
Pray: Jesus, send kind helpers to Yangon’s children, and let them discover Your love today.
