I live in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam — a city full of history, tradition, and quiet resilience. The old streets wind through markets and temples, and the lakes reflect both the beauty and complexity of our nation. Here in the north, we carry the weight of Vietnam’s long story — centuries of dynasties, wars, and rebuilding — yet the spirit of our people remains strong and determined.

Hanoi is different from the south. Life here moves with formality and pride, shaped by deep cultural roots and respect for the past. Most people I meet are devoted to traditional beliefs — ancestor worship, Buddhism, and folk religion. The air often smells of incense, and the sound of chanting rises from temples across the city. Yet beneath this devotion, I sense a quiet emptiness — hearts longing for peace that rituals cannot bring.

Following Jesus in Hanoi is not easy. Many believers here face suspicion and pressure — at work, in school, even within their own families. Some are forbidden from gathering; others are watched or silenced. But the Church endures, praying faithfully and loving boldly. We meet in small homes, in whispers and songs, trusting that God is doing something powerful in this land.

I believe the time is coming when Vietnam — from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, from the delta to the highlands — will be united not only as one nation, but as one family under the Lord Jesus. We pray for the day when His peace will flow like the Red River, bringing life to every corner of this country.
