KATHMANDU

NEPAL
Go Back

I live in Nepal, a land cradled by the towering Himalayas, where every sunrise paints the mountains in gold and every valley tells a story of resilience. In Kathmandu, our capital, ancient temples rise beside bustling markets, and prayer flags flutter across narrow streets filled with the scent of incense and spice. This city—this nation—is deeply spiritual, yet still waiting to encounter the One true God who satisfies every longing heart.

For years, Nepal walked in isolation, and its people still bear the marks of hardship and poverty. Yet this land is also rich in beauty and diversity—over a hundred ethnic groups, countless languages, and layers of belief woven through generations. As a follower of Jesus, I see both the challenge and the calling: to love this land deeply and to carry His light into every mountain village, every hidden valley, and every crowded street.

My heart especially aches for the youth. Over half our population is under thirty—bright, curious, and searching for purpose in a changing world. I pray that they will encounter Jesus personally and rise as a generation of bold witnesses who take His Gospel to the ends of Nepal and beyond. Our country may still be developing, but God is already building His Kingdom here—one heart, one household, one village at a time.

Prayer Emphasis

  • Pray for the youth of Nepal—that a generation hungry for meaning would encounter Jesus and become bold carriers of His truth. (1 Timothy 4:12)

  • Pray for unity in diversity—that ethnic, linguistic, and cultural barriers would be bridged through the love of Christ. (Galatians 3:28)

  • Pray for the Church—that believers would walk in courage and compassion, sharing the Gospel even in hard-to-reach places. (Romans 10:14–15)

  • Pray for the unreached villages—that the light of the Gospel would reach every hidden valley and mountain community. (Isaiah 52:7)

  • Pray for transformation in Kathmandu—that the capital, known for idols and altars, would become a center of worship to the Living God. (Habakkuk 2:14)
