Each morning, I wake up in Addis Ababa, the heart of Ethiopia. From my window, I see our city sprawled across the highlands, surrounded by green hills and distant blue mountains. The cool air carries the sounds of a waking city — cars, laughter, and the faint echo of church bells mingling with the call of street vendors.
Addis is alive with movement. As our nation’s capital, it’s the center of learning, industry, and leadership — where decisions shape not only Ethiopia but much of East Africa. In the streets, I hear languages from every corner of our land. People come here from the deserts, the mountains, and the valleys — each bringing their story, their hopes, and their prayers.
My grandparents remember a different Ethiopia. In 1970, barely 3% of our people followed Jesus — fewer than one million believers. But today, the Church has multiplied beyond imagination. Over 21 million Ethiopians now worship Christ. In villages, cities, and remote regions, songs of praise rise like incense. Revival is not a story from the past — it’s happening now.
We are the most populous nation in the Horn of Africa, and I believe God placed us here for a reason — to be a sending people, a light to the nations around us. From my small corner in Addis Ababa, I can sense it: God is stirring our nation to carry His love beyond our borders — from the highlands to the Horn, from our city streets to the ends of the earth.
Pray for the Church in Ethiopia to remain humble and steadfast as revival continues to grow. (1 Peter 5:6–7)
Pray for believers in Addis Ababa to be strengthened and equipped to carry the Gospel into unreached regions. (Matthew 28:19–20)
Pray for government leaders to walk in wisdom and justice, promoting peace and unity across Ethiopia. (1 Timothy 2:1–2)
Pray for young people to rise as bold disciples who bring transformation in every sphere of society. (Joel 2:28)
Pray for Ethiopia to fulfill its calling as a sending nation — a beacon of light for all of East Africa. (Habakkuk 2:14)
