The 4th Soil of the Kingdom Brings Multiplication
An outreach team of six Lao and 12 Isaan disciples went into unchurched villages to share their faith. As they talked about spiritual things, they heard, again and again, the same comment about a well-known spiritist: “Nangta? Everyone knows her, but she died last year.”
But Nangta wasn’t dead.
She had once been a well-known spirit medium, sought by villagers for healing, deliverance, and blessings. But the spirits she served took a heavy toll on her health, leaving her gravely ill and convinced she was near death.
Then, believers from a nearby house church visited her village. They shared the gospel with her in her home. She accepted Jesus, renounced the spirit world, and was miraculously healed.
After Nangta became a disciple of Jesus, she stopped practicing spirit rituals. This led people in other villages to assume she had died. When the outreach team arrived months later, Nangta opened her home to host them.
When the team told her that people from other villages were reporting she had died, Nangta laughed.
“They’re right, I did die! I died to myself, and now I live for Jesus.”
Nangta’s testimony spread to many villages, and through the outreach, 172 people had heard about Jesus and 33 expressed a desire to follow Him.
One man, Mr. Tongdee, was so moved that he asked believers to help him destroy his Buddhist and spiritist amulets. Many people thought Nangta was dead. But she is more alive than ever in Christ.
