I live in Tokyo — a city that hums with life, energy, and precision. Every day, millions move through its trains and streets, each person quiet and focused, yet somehow alone in the crowd. From the towering skyline of Shinjuku to the calm of temple courtyards, Tokyo holds both the rhythm of modern achievement and the weight of centuries-old tradition.

Japan is a land of order and beauty — mountains, sea, and city all carefully balanced. But beneath the calm surface, there is a deep spiritual emptiness. Most people here have never heard the name of Jesus spoken with love or truth. Our culture values harmony and hard work, yet many hearts are burdened by quiet despair, loneliness, and the pressure to succeed.

Following Christ here feels like walking upstream. Few understand what it means to believe in a personal God, and sharing my faith must be done gently, with patience and humility. Still, I see glimpses of His work — students curious about truth, businessmen finding peace through prayer, artists touched by grace. God is quietly planting seeds in this city.

Tokyo may be the world’s largest metropolis, but I believe the Lord sees every person in it — every heart, every tear, every longing. I pray that His Spirit would move through this city like wind through cherry blossoms — soft, unseen, but bringing life wherever it goes. One day, Japan will awaken to the love of Jesus, and Tokyo will lift its voice in worship to the true and living God.
