私は住んでいます Medan, the bustling capital of North Sumatra — a city alive with movement, trade, and culture. Indonesia, my homeland, stretches across thousands of islands, each one rich with history and diversity. Our motto, “Unity in Diversity,”captures the heart of who we are: more than 300 ethnic groups そして 600 languages, each bringing a piece of this archipelago’s soul.
But alongside this beauty lies tension. In recent years, persecution has grown, and terrorist cells continue to rise across the nation. Following Jesus here can mean losing everything — family, security, even life. Yet the Church stands firm. The love of God cannot be contained by laws or fear; His Gospel continues to move, even in whispers.
Here in Medan, the mix of peoples is as vivid as the city itself — Batak, Malay, Javanese, Chinese, and many frontier peoples who have never heard the name of Jesus. This place is a crossroads, not just of commerce but of calling. I believe God has positioned Medan as a spiritual gateway for Indonesia — a city where prayer can shake the islands and where the light of Christ can reach the unreached.
祈る the many unreached people groups in and around Medan to encounter Jesus through relationships, dreams, and courageous witnesses. (ヨエル 2:28)
祈る the Church in Indonesia to stand strong amid persecution and to radiate God’s love with grace and boldness. (Ephesians 6:13–14)
祈る unity among the diverse believers in Medan — Batak, Chinese, Javanese, and others — to reflect the heart of Christ. (ヨハネ17:21)
祈る peace and protection over the city as extremism rises, and for those promoting violence to be transformed by the Gospel. (Romans 12:21)
祈る revival to flow from Medan — that this city would become a beacon of faith, hope, and reconciliation for all Indonesia. (ハバクク書 2:14)
