Io vivo in Ibadan, a sprawling city set on seven hills in southwestern Nigeria. Our nation is vast and diverse — from the arid north to the humid forests of the south — and our people reflect that same richness. Over 250 gruppi etnici and hundreds of languages make Nigeria a mosaic of cultures and colors. Yet, despite our diversity, we share the same struggles — poverty, corruption, and the longing for peace.
Here in the south, life is busy and full of opportunity. Factories hum, markets overflow, and industries drive the economy. But beyond the city’s activity, many families still live one day at a time, hoping to make enough to survive. In the north, my brothers and sisters in Christ face constant threat from Boko Haram and other extremist groups. Entire villages have been burned, churches destroyed, and countless lives lost. Yet even there, the Church is alive — praying, forgiving, and shining the love of Christ in the face of violence.
Though Nigeria is Africa’s most populous and wealthiest nation, over half our people live below the poverty line, and millions of children suffer from hunger. But I believe this is our moment — a time for the Nigerian Church to rise. Through parole, opere e meraviglie, we are called to bring hope where systems have failed and to proclaim the name of Jesus across every tribe, language, and city. Ibadan may be one city among many, but I believe from these hills, living water will flow across the nation, healing the land and its people.
Prega per protection and courage for believers in northern Nigeria facing persecution and extremist violence. (Salmo 91:1–2)
Prega per the Nigerian Church to rise in unity and power, advancing the Kingdom through love and action. (Efesini 4:3)
Prega per government leaders to pursue justice, wisdom, and integrity amid corruption and instability. (Proverbs 11:14)
Prega per provision and healing for families suffering from poverty, hunger, and displacement. (Filippesi 4:19)
Prega per revival to begin in Ibadan and spread across Nigeria — that the nation would be known for righteousness and renewal. (Abacuc 2:14)
