में बाकू, the capital of Azerbaijan, the old and new stand side by side. From the narrow, cobblestone streets of the Old City rise the gleaming Flame Towers, their fiery silhouettes illuminating the skyline—a striking symbol of contrast between ancient heritage and modern ambition.
Azerbaijan sits at the crossroads of East and West, shaped by Persian, Russian, and Turkish influences. Beneath its surface beauty and progress, however, lies a nation where the Gospel is tightly restricted. The government’s heavy hand has sought to suppress faith and silence the underground church—but the fire of the Holy Spirit cannot be extinguished.
As the towers of Baku burn bright against the night sky, I am reminded of God’s promise—that His light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it. My prayer is that these pillars of flame will become a prophetic picture of what’s to come: hearts burning with love for Jesus, believers rising with courage, and the Gospel igniting across the nation.
Pray for the underground church, that believers in Baku would be strengthened, protected, and bold in their witness for Christ. (Acts 4:29–31)
Pray for governmental openness, that restrictions on religious freedom would loosen and that leaders’ hearts would be softened toward the Gospel. (नीतिवचन 21:1)
Pray for spiritual awakening, that the fire of the Holy Spirit would sweep across Azerbaijan, igniting revival from Baku to the borders. (हबक्कूक 3:2)
Pray for unity and courage, that followers of Jesus from different backgrounds would stand together in faith and perseverance. (Ephesians 4:3–4)
Pray that Baku’s “Flame Towers” would become a prophetic sign, symbolizing a nation set ablaze with love for Jesus—unshakable, unashamed, and unstoppable. (मत्ती 5:14–16)
