I walk the streets of Ankara, the heart of Turkey, and I feel the weight of history all around me. This land is steeped in the stories of the Bible—nearly 60% of the places mentioned in Scripture are here. From the ancient cities of Ephesus, Antioch, and Tarsus to the hills that echo with centuries of faith and struggle, Turkey has been a stage for God’s story.
Yet, I also see the challenge. Mosques dot every horizon, and my people—the Turks—are one of the largest frontier people groups in the world. Many have never heard the Good News in a way that transforms the heart. Western ideas and progressiveness have also influenced our culture, blending old and new, tradition and modernity. Amid this mix, I see the harvest—ripe, but waiting for workers.
Turkey is a bridge between Europe and the Middle East, a crossroads of trade, culture, and faith. In Ankara, where government and enterprise meet, I pray that God’s Kingdom will advance, not just in cities, but in hearts across the nation. I long for the day when it can truly be said: “All who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord.”
I pray for boldness—for believers to rise and proclaim Jesus with love, wisdom, and courage. I pray for the unreached among my own people, that the Spirit would soften hearts and open ears to the Gospel. I pray for the Church in Turkey to be a light in the darkness, a bridge of hope across divisions, and a source of healing and peace for a nation longing for more than tradition, more than history, more than appearances.
Every day, I lift my eyes to God, asking Him to multiply disciples, raise up prayer movements, and send workers into every city and village of Turkey. This land carries the marks of God’s story, and I believe His story is not finished here yet.
- For Every People Group in Turkey: Pray for the Turks, for Kurds, Arabs, and all the unreached communities in this land. Let the Holy Spirit open their hearts and minds to receive the Good News, that His Kingdom might advance in every language, every neighborhood, and every home.
- For Boldness and Protection of Gospel Workers: Field workers and disciples risk much to plant churches and share Jesus in Turkey. Pray for wisdom, courage, and supernatural protection over them as they serve in cities like Ankara, Istanbul, and beyond.
- For a Movement of Prayer in Turkey: Pray for a powerful wave of prayer to rise in Ankara uniting believers across this city. May prayer movements multiply, interceding for the unreached and the spiritual awakening of Turkey.
- For Disciple-Makers and Spiritual Fruit: Pray that disciples and leaders in Turkey would remain rooted in Jesus, walking in intimacy with the Father. Ask the Holy Spirit to give them words, actions, signs, and wonders to proclaim the Kingdom boldly, drawing people to faith in Christ.
- For Resurrection of God’s Purpose in Turkey: Though Turkey has a rich biblical history, much of the nation remains in spiritual darkness. Pray for the resurrection of God’s divine purpose in the land—that cities and villages will once again hear and receive the Good News, and that the Church will multiply across the nation.
- For Every City and Crossroads: Turkey is a bridge between Europe and the Middle East, with cities like Ankara and Istanbul shaping culture and commerce. Pray that these crossroads become hubs of gospel influence, sending out workers and movements to reach the unreached.
