Ninaishi ndani Varanasi, a city where every street and ghat tells a story of faith, longing, and devotion. Each morning, I walk along the Ganges River, watching pilgrims and priests bathe, pray, and seek blessing in its waters. Millions come here believing this river can cleanse their souls—but as I watch, I feel the weight of spiritual darkness pressing over the hearts of those who are still searching for the One who truly washes us clean.
This city is filled with beauty—its temples glow with lamps, its chants rise with the dawn—but woven through it all is deep brokenness. The divide of caste, the poverty of the forgotten, and the cries of children wandering the alleys remind me how much this city needs Yesu, the Light who pierces every shadow.
Even in the midst of the incense and prayers, I sense God’s presence—quiet, steady, waiting to break through. I believe He has a plan for Varanasi. One day, these riverbanks that echo with mantras will resound with songs of worship to the Living God. The same waters that draw millions seeking cleansing will become a symbol of the Living Water that brings eternal life.
I walk and pray daily for my city—for every priest, pilgrim, and child—to encounter the love of Yesu Kristo. My hope is to see Varanasi transformed, not only as a center of devotion but as a dwelling place for His glory, where His light shines through every heart and home.
Omba kwa ajili ya kuamka kiroho — that seekers along the Ganges would encounter Jesus, the true Living Water, who alone cleanses and saves. ( Yohana 4:13-14 )
Pray for deliverance from darkness — that the strongholds of idolatry and ritualism would give way to freedom and truth in Christ. ( 2 Wakorintho 4:6 )
Pray for children and the poor — that the abandoned, exploited, and forgotten would find love, care, and dignity through the hands of believers. ( Mathayo 19:14 )
Pray for workers in the harvest — that followers of Jesus in Varanasi would be bold, wise, and filled with compassion as they share the Gospel. ( Warumi 10:14-15 )
Pray for transformation — that Varanasi, long seen as the spiritual heart of India, would become a beacon of revival and the glory of God. ( Isaya 60:1-3 )
