Kingdom Leaven Spreads Through Whole Groups

High in the Himalayas, near the border between China and Nepal, church planter Sonam walks into villages where the name of Jesus has never been heard.

And the Kingdom is taking root.

In just one year, hundreds of new churches have been born among people long considered closed to the gospel.

Sometimes, it begins with one person.

In one remote mountain village, a young woman had been sick for years. Sonam prayed for her, and she was miraculously and completely healed.

Soon after, she followed Jesus’ example and entered the watery grave of baptism.

Then something completely unexpected happened. Her father had watched everything. He had seen his daughter healed. He had seen her faith take root. And what he had witnessed stirred something in his own heart.

He followed his daughter into the river and was also baptized.

God has begun the process of saving this family.

But the story isn’t finished. Other members of the household have yet to follow.

Pray for the rest of this family, that they too will encounter Jesus and enter His Kingdom. And pray for the thousands across these remote borderlands who are still waiting to hear that the Kingdom has come near.

Prayer Focus

Kingdom Expansion: Pray that the Kingdom would expand even among the world’s largest Buddhist population, that the increase of God’s Kingdom would have no end in China (Isaiah 9:7).

Pray for Hong Kong

Hong Kong reports over 1 million Buddhists among its total population of approximately 7.51 million. This city in political transition contains a significant number of churches. Pray for believers in Hong Kong to boldly and lovingly engage Buddhist neighbours amid ongoing social upheaval.

Pray for movement leaders in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces working among Han Chinese and ethnic minority Buddhist peoples to have a great harvest.

Pray for God to revive a passion for prayer and the lost among the churches in China, and that He will once again hear the sound of prayers every morning in China (Mark 1:35). Pray for every Christian and church in China to be able to lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence so that the work of God will continue without hindrance (1 Tim 2:2). Pray for God’s wisdom to be upon all the disciples and churches in China so they will be able to know the will of God for them and also the way God wants them to conduct themselves (James 1:5).
Frontier Unreached People Groups
Pray for harvest workers to be given boldness, courage and wisdom and to be thrust out into the 76 frontier unreached people groups (peoples with virtually no gospel witness) within China’s borders and for a harvest to begin.
