म बस्छु Damascus, the city once called “the pearl of the East.” Even now, as I walk its streets, I can still feel echoes of its former beauty — the fragrance of jasmine, the call to prayer rising between ancient stones, the hum of markets that never truly sleep. Yet beneath it all lies sorrow. Since the war began in 2011, our land has bled and burned. Just a few hours away, Homs, once a vibrant center of life, became one of the first cities to fall into devastation — its people scattered, its neighborhoods reduced to rubble.

More than a decade later, we are still trying to rebuild. Our president, Bashar al-Assad, remains in power, and while the fighting has slowed, the pain remains. But even in the ashes, God is moving. I have heard countless stories of Syrians — fleeing through the night, sleeping in tents, crossing borders — who have met Jesus in dreams and visions. He is revealing Himself to those who have never heard His name spoken in love.

Now, as the nation begins to stabilize, a new opportunity has come. Some believers are returning home, carrying hope where despair once reigned. We know the risk, but we also know the Pearl of great price — the treasure no one can destroy. The same Messiah who met Saul on the road to Damascus is still meeting hearts today. And we believe He will one day restore Syria, not through power or politics, but through His peace.
