Jesus tells his disciples in Matthew 17:20, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Today’s story comes from Ethiopia, where God moved powerfully among an unreached people group. While disciple-makers were serving on the ground in Ethiopia, a community of believers in Uganda committed to pray specifically for breakthrough in Ethiopia. Though separated by borders, they were united in faith.
As the Ugandan believers interceded for Ethiopia, the disciple-makers became the hands and feet of Jesus. They witnessed growing openness, provision, divine favour and remarkable answers to prayer.
In one Ethiopian village, a believer named Araara was attacked by a gang of men who broke his legs and fingers and left him for dead, hiding his body under leaves. As prayer continued to rise from Uganda for Ethiopia, Araara encountered Jesus in heaven. He was told he would return to share the Good News of the Kingdom.
Miraculously, Araara was restored to life. He stood up, shook off the leaves and walked back to the house of prayer in Ethiopia. When the gang members and many others saw him alive, they were overwhelmed — and many turned to believe in Jesus.
