Courage to witness faithfully

Imen is a Sudanese woman living in Dubai to make money to send to her family. While there, she came to Christ through reading Creation to Christ stories from the Bible. She immediately began sharing and leading other Sudanese, North Africans and Arab Muslims to Christ.

Early in her journey, she shared with her friend Samar. Initially, Samar liked what she was hearing, but her interest quickly faded. One day, around noon, Imen was doing a Discovery Bible Study of the Crucifixion story in Luke Chapter 23. When she got to verse 44, “By this time it was about noon, and darkness fell across the whole land…” she received a text from Samar saying that her sister had died. Samar had just moved back to the UAE to pay for her sister’s dialysis treatments in Sudan. Tragically, the power went out while her sister was having dialysis, and that power outage killed her.

Imen, deeply moved by the devastating news, said, “God holds time in his hands. No one knows the time, the hour, or when the darkness will fall. We have to get right with Him.”

Prayer Points

Pray for Samar and her family and many who are bereaved to encounter God’s comfort and saving Grace in their grief.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” Psalm 34:18
Pray for Imen and many like her to be strengthened as witnesses, boldly proclaiming that God holds time and eternity in His hands.
“My times are in your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me”. Psalms 31:15
Pray for many Sudanese, North Africans and Arab Muslims to turn to Christ through such divine moments and stories.
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light”. Isaiah 9:2
