CARACHI

PAKISTAN
Retourner

I live in Karachi — a city that never stops moving. The horns, the sea breeze, the scent of chai and diesel — they’re part of daily life here. From the old streets of Saddar to the skyscrapers at Clifton, Karachi is a city of contrasts: fishermen launching boats at dawn while financiers rush to glass towers, slums standing in the shadow of luxury malls. It’s loud, alive, and full of people chasing a better life.

Karachi isn’t just Pakistan’s largest city; it’s its heartbeat. People come here from every province — Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashtun, Baloch, Urdu-speaking — each bringing their own language and struggle. We live shoulder to shoulder, carrying both the strength and the strain of this diversity. Faith is everywhere — mosques fill before sunrise, and the name of God echoes through the streets — yet so many hearts still ache for peace.

For followers of Jesus, life here is both dangerous and divine. Churches often meet quietly, their songs muffled by traffic outside. Some believers hide their Bibles; others share their faith only through kindness. We know what it means to count the cost. But even here, in one of the hardest places to follow Him, the light of Christ keeps breaking through — in whispered prayers, in dreams, in acts of courage no one sees.

I believe Karachi’s story isn’t finished. God is moving in this city — in the fishermen’s villages along the coast, in the crowded apartment blocks, and in the hearts of those who have never yet heard His name. One day, the city that now groans under weight and weariness will sing again — not the noise of chaos, but the song of redemption.
