The Kingdom — Carefully Searching for the Lost
For years, Ambi Tsumba, a Nepali man, followed the Buddhist faith of his family and community. As a father of two sons and four daughters, he believed that doing good works and worshiping Buddha was the right way to live.
Then Ambi heard the testimony of a disciple named Som and encountered the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Good News of the gospel changed everything for Ambi.
“Through the gospel, I learned that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation,” Ambi shared. “This message touched my heart deeply. I believed in Jesus Christ and decided to follow Him.”
Ambi and his family became the first known followers of Jesus among the Tsum, a Tibetan Buddhist people. Their decision came at a great cost. Because of their faith in Jesus, they were cast out of their village and forced to relocate to Nepal’s remote Nubri Valley, near the border with Tibet, China.
Yet Ambi is not turning back. He is grateful that someone brought him the gospel and that, through Jesus, he has found a hope that cannot be taken away.
Now, he and his family are praying that others among the Tsum will one day discover the same hope.
