The disciples wait in the upper room - Acts 1:12-14
Story intro...
After Jesus went back to heaven, His friends went to an upstairs room in Jerusalem. The Bible says, “They all joined together constantly in prayer”. They didn’t know exactly when the Holy Spirit would come — but they trusted God and waited together.
Let’s think about it:
Sometimes waiting can feel hard! But waiting can also be a time to pray and trust God. Jesus’ friends prayed together in the upper room — they didn’t rush off or get busy with other things. Can you think of a time when you waited and trusted God?
Let’s Pray Together:
Dear God, help me be patient when I’m waiting for You to answer. Help me remember that You are always working, even when I can’t see it. Teach me to pray with my friends and family, just like the disciples did. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action Idea:
Find a quiet spot today (maybe your room or garden) and sit still for one minute. Tell God you are waiting and listening.
Memory Verse:
“Wait for the gift my Father promised.” — Acts 1:4b
Justin’s Thought
Waiting can be tough, right? Like waiting for your turn on the swing or waiting for your favorite show to start. But the disciples waited together, praying and trusting God. And when the Holy Spirit came, it was worth the wait! Sometimes, God wants us to wait and pray, because He has something amazing planned.
Grown ups:
Today, adults are praying for Jewish and Arab believers to stand in unity — as one family in Jesus, bringing peace and hope
LET’S PRAY
Jesus, bring Jewish and Arab believers together in Your love today.
Holy Spirit, make them one family shining brightly for Your Kingdom.
