Why pray for cities?

“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, Selah that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.

Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth. Selah

Cry for the harvest

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”

10 Days is a part of God’s plan to revive and unite the Church, save the lost, and ultimately, to prepare the way for His coming again. The 10 “Days of Awe” are rooted in between the biblical Feasts of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) and the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). These feasts prophetically foreshadow the second coming. God is drawing a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language to Himself. Our assignment is to partner with Him to see His Kingdom grow and expand until all have heard of the glory of God.

We are called to play a role in sharing the Good News, but it begins in the place of prayer. As sons and daughters of the most High God, when we are filled with the love of God, we are often moved to share that message of His love with others.

God works through prayers of faith, and from His children who are moved with compassion and answer the call to respond obediently. In the past couple years, prayer and missions movements have begun to come together in partnership.

The Great Commission work remains. Even after 2,000years of history:

• 80 percent of the world’s Muslims still do not know a single Christian.
• 1,708 people groups do not have a Bible in their own language.
• 5,000 people groups of 2.6 billion people have fewer than 1 in 1,000 Jesus followers.
• If we continue to do what we have been doing, 500million Chinese will never hear of Jesus.

Cry for the harvest

The 10 Days Movement joins many ministries around the world in bringing prayer and gospel movements together. A new initiative called Pray 110 ( www.110cities.com ), inspired by the story of the Moravians 300 years ago, recently launched. The focus on these cities came out of research from global house church movements that identified these 110 cities are ripe for the harvest. Additionally, nearly all remaining unreached people groups on the earth are represented in these 110 cities! These house church leaders also shared they have teams ready to launch church planting and disciple-making movements in these cities between now and 2025.

As we believe God to stop cities for 10 Days in repentance,prayer, fasting, and worship to pray around the throne, around the clock, and around the globe – we also pray for transformation and revival across these 110 strategic world cities. God’s heart is that none should perish but all come to repentance. Jesus invites us to turn from the kingdom of this world to His kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.”

10 Days invites each gathering to adopt one of these 110 cities for focused prayer. As we gather to pray, repent and turn away from the world's way towards God's way, we also pray for our adopted city to experience a similar transformation.

Each day, we will pray from a theme of turning from the things of the world and turning towards Our King Jesus and His Kingdom. We will highlight one region of the world, a key 110 City for the region(other cities in the region), and have a prayer for believers, the church, and the lost. Days 9 & 10 will highlight strategic cities in the Americas and Caribbean which are home to diaspora groups and are also sending bases for missionaries. As you pray through each section, pray not only for yourself, but also for your community, your state and nation, and for these cities and their region as well that they also would turn from darkness to light as the Son of Righteousness rise upon them. Give special attention to your specific adopted city throughout your prayer daily.

Pray that God thrusts forth more than enough laborers into theripe harvest fields of the world for His glory!
