Addis Ababa, the capital and largest city of Ethiopia, is located on a well-watered plateau surrounded by hills and mountains in the center of the nation. The metropolis is the educational and administrative center of Ethiopia and is also the manufacturing hub for much of East Africa. Ethiopia, one of the world’s oldest countries, has experienced a mighty move of God in recent years. In 1970 the nation had about 900,000 selfidentifying evangelicals, about 3% of its total population. Today, that number exceeds 21 million. As the most populous nation in the Horn of Africa, Ethiopia is well positioned to be a sending nation to its many unreached tribes and neighboring nations.
