I walk the streets of Algiers, and I feel the weight of this city and this nation pressing in on me. Algeria is vast—more than four-fifths of it swallowed by the endless Sahara—but here in the north, along the Mediterranean, life pulses through our city. Algiers glimmers with whitewashed buildings, earning its nickname, “Algiers the White.” Yet to me, that name has a deeper meaning: many hearts here, including mine, have been washed white as snow by the blood of Jesus.
Still, the need is immense. I see millions of people living and dying without knowing the hope we have in Christ. Even in my city of nearly three million, Islam dominates, and 99.9% of our country remains unreached. Sometimes it feels heavy—this task of bringing light into darkness—but I believe God has called me to stand here, to pray, to live as a witness, and to carry His hope into every street, home, and heart in Algiers.
- I pray for Spirit-led wisdom over our underground house churches. As we send out teams into the city and beyond, especially to the Algerian Arab people, I ask God to guide every step, every word, and every decision.
- I lift up the Bible translation in Tachawit. I long for people to hold God’s Word in their own language, to hear His voice clearly, and to understand His truth deeply.
- My heart cries for the exaltation of Jesus here and for the healing of the minds and hearts of new followers. So many of us carry fear, confusion, and doubt—pray that His presence brings peace, joy, and steadfast faith.
- I pray for the existing prayer and disciple-making movements to rise in training new believers, so they can grow strong in faith, learn to walk boldly, and be equipped to lead others in the Gospel.
- Finally, I long to see the Kingdom of God come through dreams and visions. Pray that those trapped in darkness will see the Light of the World and be set free, awakening to the truth of Jesus in their lives.
