Abraham and Sarah had waited a very, very long time. God had promised them a son — but years went by, and still no baby. Then more years. Abraham was getting old. Sarah was getting old. So old, in fact, that when God repeated the promise, Sarah laughed out loud. A baby? Now? Impossible!
But God said: “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
And then — at just the right time, in just the right way — the promise came true. A baby boy was born. They called him Isaac, which means “he laughs.” Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter and joy!” It had been worth the wait.
Sometimes God’s promises feel like they’re taking forever. Maybe you’ve prayed for something again and again and nothing seems to happen. Maybe you’ve wondered if God has forgotten. But God never forgets. His timing isn’t always our timing, but His promises are completely trustworthy.
The Bible is full of promises that God has made — to love you, to never leave you, to work everything together for good, to one day make all things new. Every single one of them is true. Every single one is worth waiting for.
When the wait feels hard, hold on. God keeps His promises. He always has. He always will.
