Today's Adventure

One small lunch, thousands fed, and a boy who said yes — discover how God uses what YOU have!

Memory Verse

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord to send workers into the harvest. (Matthew 9:37–38)”

Bible Story

Story: A Boy Shares His Lunch and Jesus Feeds Thousands
John 6:1–14

Fun Memory Method

Two groups: Group A says ‘The harvest is plentiful’ — Group B replies ‘but the workers are few!’ Then swap and repeat three times, getting faster!

Today’s Devotional

Imagine being in a crowd of thousands of hungry people, and someone comes to you and asks: “Do you have any food?” You look in your bag. Five small rolls of bread. Two little fish. That’s all you’ve got.

Would you hand it over? That’s exactly what one young boy did when Andrew brought him to Jesus. He could have said, “This is hardly enough for one person — what’s the point?” But instead, he gave what he had.

And Jesus took it. He gave thanks to God. And then He broke the bread and the fish... and somehow, miraculously, everyone ate until they were full. Over five thousand people. And there were twelve baskets of leftovers.

When we put what we have into Jesus’ hands — even if it seems small, even if it seems not enough — He can do more with it than we can imagine.

Sharing Jesus works the same way. Maybe you think: “I’m just a kid. What can I do?” But you can smile at someone who’s lonely. You can tell a friend what Jesus means to you. You can pray for your school, your street, your city. You can give what you’ve got to Jesus — and watch what He does with it.

The harvest is full of people waiting to be found. And Jesus invites you to be part of it.

Fun Activity

Pack a small ‘sharing lunch’ — even just a few biscuits or pieces of fruit — and share it with someone outside your family. Tell them God loves them!

Family Challenge!

As a family, think of one person you know who doesn’t yet follow Jesus. Write their name down, put it somewhere visible, and commit to pray for them this week.

Focus City

Paris, France

Paris — yes, the city of the Eiffel Tower and croissants! — is also a city with millions of people who have never heard the good news about Jesus. France is one of the most secular countries in Europe. But God is stirring hearts there, and a growing prayer movement is asking the Lord to send workers into His harvest field in Paris and across Europe.

Pray: Lord of the harvest, send workers to share Your love across Paris and all of Europe.

Praying for the Jewish People

  • Pray for the harvest among Jewish people in Israel and globally — that many would come to a saving relationship with Messiah. (Romans 10:1)
  • Pray for evangelistic efforts and discipleship movements to accelerate among the Jewish diaspora, including in Paris. (Romans 10:1)

2BC Champion Challenge

Be a 2BC Champion today — Hearing, Knowing, and Sharing!

Hearing — Ask God to show you who needs to hear about Jesus this week.

Knowing — I am useful to God right now, exactly as I am, like the boy with the lunch.

Sharing —  Share something — a story, a kind word, or a snack — and tell someone about Jesus.

BIBLE STORY

Boy Feeds 5,000

John 6:1–14

Justin’s Thoughts

One boy’s small lunch became a feast for thousands because he gave it to Jesus. You might feel like you’re ‘just a kid’ with not much to offer — but give what you have to Jesus today. Watch what He can do with it!
— Justin Gunawan
