The ongoing war continues to affect the people of Sanaa, Yemen. Violence, insecurity, and displacement mean children go hungry, men are unable to provide for their families, and women struggle to hold the pieces together. Shame over Ahmed’s inability to provide for his family threatened his identity and prompted questions about his worth.
When Ahmed’s friend at the cafe told him he had started hearing stories from God’s Word that were bringing him hope, Ahmed was intrigued. The Creation to Christ stories he heard captured the hearts of Ahmed and his family.
In the midst of such hopelessness, lives are being touched by the Gospel. Bold witnesses of the death and resurrection of Christ are taking these stories from the Bible to homes filled with fear, brokenness, and unmet expectations. The hope of the final story in Revelation 7 is rewriting identity and purpose in this war-torn land.
“…and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat…”
