Daniel was a teenager when his world was turned upside down. He\u2019d been taken from his home in Jerusalem and brought to Babylon, one of the most powerful cities on earth. The king wanted to train him as one of his officials \u2014 a great opportunity. But there was a catch.<\/p>\n
Daniel was expected to eat the king\u2019s food and drink the king\u2019s wine. And Daniel knew that this food didn\u2019t honour God. So he made a brave decision. He politely but firmly said: \u201cNo thank you. Could we eat vegetables and water instead, and see how we look after ten days?\u201d<\/p>\n
The official was nervous \u2014 but agreed. Ten days later, Daniel and his three friends looked healthier than everyone else in the king\u2019s programme. And God gave Daniel wisdom and understanding beyond anyone around him.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s what\u2019s amazing: Daniel didn\u2019t make a loud fuss. He didn\u2019t shout or rebel. He simply made a quiet, firm choice to honour God \u2014 even when it was easier not to. And God honoured him for it.<\/p>\n
You face moments like this too. Maybe it\u2019s not about food \u2014 maybe it\u2019s about what you watch, how you speak about others, or whether you tell the truth when it would be easier to lie. Following Jesus means choosing truth, even when it costs you something.
