Colonizada pelos portugueses no s\u00e9culo XV, Dakar foi uma das cidades-base do com\u00e9rcio de escravos no Atl\u00e2ntico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Com uma economia vibrante impulsionada pela minera\u00e7\u00e3o, constru\u00e7\u00e3o, turismo, pesca e agricultura, Dakar \u00e9 uma das cidades mais pr\u00f3speras da \u00c1frica Ocidental. O pa\u00eds goza de liberdade religiosa e \u00e9 tolerante com muitas religi\u00f5es, mas muito poucos da maioria mu\u00e7ulmana 91% chegaram \u00e0 f\u00e9 em Jesus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Isto se deve em grande parte \u00e0s irmandades mu\u00e7ulmanas sufistas. Estas irmandades s\u00e3o organizadas, ricas e t\u00eam poder pol\u00edtico, e mais de 85% de todos os mu\u00e7ulmanos pertencem a uma delas. Apesar de uma popula\u00e7\u00e3o crist\u00e3 relativamente grande, a opress\u00e3o espiritual paira sobre a cidade. Dakar \u00e9 a chave para evangelizar esta na\u00e7\u00e3o. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dakar \u00e9 o lar de 25% da popula\u00e7\u00e3o nacional, bem como de membros de todos os grupos \u00e9tnicos, tornando poss\u00edvel alcan\u00e7ar todos esses grupos para o evangelho.
