Today, millions of believers worldwide gather in prayer for Muslim Peoples — thanking the Lord, calling on His powerful Name, and contending together for His redeeming works to be revealed across the Muslim world!

This prayer guide focuses on 24 key cities from the 110 Cities initiative — a global movement calling the Church to pray for the Gospel to reach some of the largest unreached cities on earth. These cities represent millions of people, many of whom have little opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Across these strategic urban centres, God is at work. Churches are being planted, disciple-makers are reaching out, and many are encountering Jesus through Scripture, dreams, and personal witness.

Yet the need remains great. Through united prayer, we ask the Lord to open hearts, strengthen believers, and bring many into His Kingdom.

During these 24 hours of prayer, we will move our focus from city to city, asking God for breakthrough — that people would encounter Jesus Christ, the Saviour and Lord of all nations.

This Global Day of Prayer coincides with the Night of Power, when many Muslims seek God and believe He reveals Himself through signs and wonders. Let’s pray with faith and love that hearts are open, that truth shines brightly, and that many encounter Jesus personally in transforming power tonight.

Pray wherever you are — individually, with friends, at work, school or gathered as a church.

Each hour focuses on one of the 24 cities listed in this guide. Use the city links provided to learn more about the cities, watch the prayer videos, or read additional information.

As you pray, use the Scripture passages and prayer themes to guide your intercessions. Ask the Lord to bring spiritual breakthrough, freedom from fear, healing, compassion, and salvation to the unreached people groups across these cities.

You may wish to pray for the entire 24 hours or simply join for a short time. Whether it is 5 minutes or several hours, every prayer matters.

We also encourage you to pray for five people you personally know who do not yet follow Jesus, asking that they, too, would encounter the love and truth of Christ.

Why Pray for the Muslim World?

Because God loves Muslims deeply.

More than 1.9 billion people identify as Muslim, and every person is precious to God. The Father desires people from every nation and people group to know Him through Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

Because many have never clearly heard the Gospel.

Large numbers of Muslims live in places where access to the message of Jesus is limited. Prayer prepares the way for the Gospel to be shared and received.

Throughout history, united prayer has opened doors, strengthened believers, and brought transformation to communities. When God’s people humble themselves and pray, He moves powerfully (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Across these 24 hours, let us ask God to calm storms, break fear, heal the broken, reveal His compassion, and draw multitudes from these cities into His Kingdom.

Together we pray with faith for the day described in Revelation 7:9 — when people from every tribe, language, people and nation worship the Lamb on the throne.

Praying for 24 Key Cities

Here is a list of key cities where Gospel movements are emerging among Islamic peoples. As the Lord leads, choose one or two of these cities to focus on in prayer with your families, churches, and prayer rooms.

Prayer Themes –

use the 6 topics and prayer pointers that follow as you are led, to cover each city in prayer.

If you have an hour, you might like to select a city and pray over each prayer point for 10 minutes!

1. Jesus’ authority over the earth and nature.

Jesus rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be Still!” Then the wind died down, and it was completely calm. (Mark 4:39)

Pray: for the people of these cities to turn to Jesus, the One with authority over both the literal and metaphorical storms in life.
Pray: for every spiritual pact people in this land have made under folk Islam to be broken in the name of Jesus.
Pray: for Muslims who rely on offering sacrifices at the graves of dead ‘saints’ to receive blessings. Pray for all of the effects of charms, pins sewn into clothing, wall hangings, and superstitious incantations to be broken in the name of Jesus. Pray for people in these cities to experience the freedom found only through Jesus.

2. Jesus authority to replace fear with peace.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)

Pray: for the power of fear to be broken in the lives of the people in these cities.
Pray: for Christians who are still living in fear to experience the freedom that Jesus came to give them. Pray that they would be encouraged and empowered to walk in faith instead.
Pray: for those bound by fear of judgment — fearful that asking honest questions, examining truth, or reading Scripture will bring punishment. Pray for these fears to be shattered, and for faith to rise in their hearts as they encounter Jesus and recognise Him as Lord and Saviour.

3. Jesus’ authority to heal and restore what is broken, robbed or destroyed.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10:10-11)

Pray: for Christians in these cities who are facing intense storms in life: threats from family members, the possibility of losing children, financial uncertainty, unemployment, and being thrown into prison because of their faith in Christ.
Pray: for believers facing storms because of the fallen world we live in: cancer, depression, unemployment, strained relationships, and loneliness.
Pray: that the reality of Jesus in believers’ lives would be a witness and signpost to arouse curiosity and questions in the hearts of those around them.

4. Jesus’ has compassion on those who are lost.

“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 18:14)

Pray: for the poor in these cities, those looked down upon because of their lack of education, their family name, or having the “wrong” skin colour or a disability. Pray they will have an opportunity to hear about the One who exalts the humble, for them to have their story rewritten by the Good News of Jesus.
This passage also teaches us that God turns impossibilities into possibilities. Nothing is too hard for Him. As we look at the daunting needs of the Muslim world, stir Christian hearts to trust that they are not impossible for God. Luke 18: 27 “What is impossible with men is possible with God”
Pray: for people who are trusting in their own efforts to earn God’s approval. Ask God to soften hearts, bring true humility, and reveal the gift of salvation through Jesus — received not by works, but by grace through faith.
Pray: for Jesus to penetrate their hearts, that they would turn from self-righteousness to Jesus and His Kingdom.

5. Jesus shows us how to love our neighbours and those who persecute us.

“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Do to others as you would have them do to you. (Luke 6:27-28,31)

Pray: for multitudes of Muslims in these cities to read God’s Word and for God to speak to them through it even if they do not have a believer beside them to explain every detail.
Pray: that obedience to the things they learn would result in strong disciples who listen and obey God’s Word.
Jesus teaches us to “love our enemies” and “do good to those who hate you,” in Luke 6:27-31. Islam has no equivalent to this teaching. Pray! for conviction of the Holy Spirit to open eyes and remove the veil to see and understand God’s Kingdom.
Pray: for devout Muslims in this city to reflect deeply on what it means to love God fully — with heart, soul, strength, and mind — and to love their neighbour as themselves. Ask God to give them courage to seek Him thoughtfully, to ask honest questions, and to discover that He welcomes sincere inquiry and faith.
Pray: that the light of Christians living out Jesus’ command to love their enemies, do good to those who hate them, bless those who curse them, and pray for those who hurt them — would shine as bright as the noonday sun.
Pray: for onlooking Muslim neighbours, coworkers, family members, and friends to be impacted. May they ask questions about where their strength comes from to do such countercultural actions.

6. Jesus and His love for the multitudes in heaven

‘For the Lamb at the centre of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’ (Revelation 7:17)

God’s love is so great that it encompasses multitudes from every tribe, tongue, and nation. One day, all believers will be in His presence, delighting in Him without condemnation.

Pray: for Muslims in these cities to put their faith in Christ and be among the multitudes.
Pray: that believers from Muslim backgrounds take the Good News of Jesus to other Muslims from neighbouring people groups.
This passage also teaches that it is right to ascribe blessings, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honour, power, and might to God for all eternity, literally. Pray: for God to raise up more people in these cities who would begin living this reality - even now!
Pray: that the people in these cities would thirst for the springs of living water and meet a believer who can lead them to the one who promised that if you drink of Him, you will never thirst again.
