De stad ligt in het zuidwesten van het land, aan de grens met Kameroen, en telt 1,6 miljoen inwoners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tsjaad is een land zonder zeekust en wordt beschouwd als een van de armste landen ter wereld. Hoewel het qua oppervlakte het vijfde grootste land van Afrika is, ligt een groot deel van het noordelijke deel in de Sahara en is het dunbevolkt. De meeste mensen leven van de katoenteelt of veeteelt. Er is een opkomende olie-industrie in ontwikkeling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rebellen en bandieten teisteren het land van binnenuit, maar ook vanuit buurlanden Darfur, Kameroen en Nigeria. Dit belemmert de economische groei, de menselijke ontwikkeling en de christelijke bediening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De islam is de grootste religieuze groep in Tsjaad en vertegenwoordigt 551.000 inwoners. Katholieke christenen vormen 231.000 en protestantse christenen 181.000.
