    Dubai is a city of tall skyscrapers, shining lights, and busy roads. People from many nations live there. You can hear lots of different languages in the shopping malls and on the metro. Some families have lived there for generations, and many others have moved for work.<\/p>\n

    Ten-year-old Layla lived in a tall apartment building. Her father worked long hours, and her mother cared for Layla and her baby brother. Layla went to school with children from many cultures. Her class was like a mini-world.<\/p>\n

    Layla\u2019s family came from another country. They loved Jesus, and they followed Him with courage.<\/p>\n

    But in Dubai, Layla\u2019s parents taught her to be wise too.<\/p>\n

    \u201cLove everyone,\u201d her mother said, \u201cand be careful. Pray for God\u2019s timing.\u201d<\/p>\n

    One of Layla\u2019s favourite people was Auntie Imen. Auntie Imen was an expat worker who helped many families. She was warm, cheerful, and always ready to serve.<\/p>\n

    One afternoon, Layla\u2019s mother invited Auntie Imen for tea. While the kettle boiled, Layla listened from the doorway as the grown-ups talked.<\/p>\n

    Auntie Imen shared about a woman at work who had been asking questions.<\/p>\n

    \u201cShe watches my life,\u201d Auntie Imen said. \u201cShe sees how Jesus changes me. She asks why I forgive, why I don\u2019t gossip, why I keep hope.\u201d
    \nLayla leaned closer.<\/p>\n

    \u201cAnd what do you say?\u201d Layla\u2019s mother asked.<\/p>\n

    Auntie Imen smiled. \u201cI tell her about Jesus \u2014 gently. I tell her He forgave me. I tell her He gives me peace. I tell her I belong to Him.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Layla\u2019s heart beat faster. It sounded brave.<\/p>\n

    That night, Layla asked her mother, \u201cIs it scary to talk about Jesus?\u201d<\/p>\n

    Her mother thought for a moment. \u201cSometimes. But love is stronger than worry. And Jesus helps us.\u201d<\/p>\n

    The next day at school, Layla noticed a girl named Noor sitting alone in the playground. Noor had moved from another country too, and she didn\u2019t know anyone yet. Some children avoided her because she was \u201cnew.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Layla remembered Auntie Imen\u2019s words: People watch your life.<\/p>\n

    So Layla walked over to Noor and said, \u201cDo you want to play?\u201d<\/p>\n

    Noor looked surprised. Then she nodded.<\/p>\n

    They played a simple game, and Noor smiled for the first time.<\/p>\n

    Later, Noor asked, \u201cWhy did you come to me?\u201d<\/p>\n

    Layla hesitated, then answered honestly, \u201cBecause Jesus loves people who feel alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Noor blinked. \u201cJesus?\u201d<\/p>\n

    Layla nodded. \u201cHe\u2019s my Saviour. He helps me be kind.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Noor didn\u2019t argue. She just listened.<\/p>\n

    That evening, Layla told Auntie Imen what happened. Auntie Imen grinned and said, \u201cThat\u2019s it! Brave doesn\u2019t always mean big speeches. Sometimes brave is one kind choice.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Over the following weeks, Layla kept praying for Noor. She invited her to sit together at lunch. She included her in games. She shared little things \u2014 not pushing, just loving.<\/p>\n

    And Noor began asking more questions.<\/p>\n

    \u201cCan you tell me a story about Jesus?\u201d Noor asked one day.<\/p>\n

    Layla smiled. \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n

    She told Noor about Jesus welcoming children. She told her about the shepherd who looks for the lost sheep. She told her about forgiveness.<\/p>\n

    Layla didn\u2019t feel like a grown-up preacher. She just felt like a girl shining light.<\/p>\n

    And she understood something important:<\/p>\n
