At the convergence of the Han and Yangtze rivers, Wuhan has long been called the \u201cheart of China.\u201d It is here that three old cities\u2014Hankou, Hanyang, and Wuchang\u2014came together, and today we are one of China\u2019s great industrial and commercial hubs.<\/p>\n<p>But since the outbreak of COVID-19, everything feels different. The world\u2019s eyes were on us, and though life has resumed with bustling markets and busy streets, there is an unseen heaviness that lingers. People smile again, but many carry quiet scars\u2014loss, fear, and a deep longing for hope that no government or medicine can truly provide.<\/p>\n<p>As a follower of Jesus in Wuhan, I feel the weight of this moment. In a nation with more than 4,000 years of history and incredible ethnic diversity, our people are searching for peace. Some turn to success or tradition, but many are silently hungry for truth. Even in the face of persecution, the family of Jesus is quietly growing. In homes, in whispered prayers, in hidden gatherings, the Spirit is moving.<\/p>\n<p>We stand in a nation whose leaders dream of global power through the \u201cOne Belt, One Road\u201d initiative, but I believe with all my heart that true renewal will only come when China bows before King Jesus. Pray for His peace to cover every heart. (Psalm 147:3)<\/p>\n<p>- Pray for Spiritual Awakening:<br \/>\nCry out for the people of Wuhan to see beyond fear and survival, and to hunger for the hope found only in Christ. Pray that the city once marked by sickness becomes known for revival. (John 14:6)<\/p>\n<p>- Pray for Bold Witness:<br \/>\nPray for followers of Jesus in Wuhan to share the Good News with wisdom and courage, even under pressure. Ask that their love and faith shine in a way that draws many to Christ. (Acts 4:29-31)<\/p>\n<p>- Pray for the Next Generation:<br \/>\nAsk God to touch the hearts of Wuhan\u2019s students and young professionals, that they would rise as a generation unashamed of Jesus, carrying His light into China and beyond. (1 Timothy 4:12)<\/p>\n<p>- Pray for Transformation of Wuhan\u2019s Identity:<br \/>\nIntercede for Wuhan to no longer be remembered as the city of the outbreak, but as a city of healing, resurrection, and new beginnings through Jesus Christ.
