Faktanya, dengan jumlah penduduk 7,7 juta jiwa, kota ini merupakan negara dengan jumlah penduduk terbesar kedua setelah Kairo di dunia Arab. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ketika Irak berada pada puncak stabilitas dan perekonomiannya pada tahun 70an, Bagdad dihormati oleh umat Islam sebagai pusat kosmopolitan dunia Arab. Setelah mengalami perang dan konflik terus-menerus selama 50 tahun terakhir, lambang ini terasa seperti kenangan yang memudar bagi masyarakatnya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saat ini, sebagian besar kelompok minoritas Kristen tradisional Irak dapat ditemukan di Bagdad, berjumlah sekitar 250.000 orang.
