Kota ini terletak di sebelah selatan Sisilia dan utara Sahara. Kota ini dihuni oleh 1,2 juta orang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sebelum merdeka pada tahun 1951, negara ini berada di bawah kekuasaan asing secara berkala selama lebih dari dua ribu tahun. Karena iklimnya yang kering, Libya hampir sepenuhnya bergantung pada bantuan dan impor asing untuk stabilitas ekonominya hingga minyak bumi ditemukan pada akhir tahun 1950-an.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Setelah jatuh bangunnya negara sosialis di bawah kepemimpinan Muammar Gaddafi, negara tersebut telah berjuang untuk mengakhiri konflik yang tersisa dan membangun lembaga-lembaga negara.
