With it, they are reshaping the religious, economic, and cultural landscapes where they settle. Today\u2019s prayers focus on these people, called the Indian diaspora. There are over 18 million people and are one of the most geographically dispersed and influential migrant populations in the world.<\/p><p>Indian communities are building businesses, and temples and sharing yoga and religious festivals in communities that they move to. Temples, such as BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Jersey, have been built, marking that place as a centre of Hindu worship.
