QOM

L'IRAN

J'habite à Qom, the second holiest city in Shia Islam — a city filled with mosques, seminaries, and scholars who train the next generation of Islamic clerics. People travel from across Iran and beyond to study here or to seek blessings, believing this is a place closest to the heart of their faith. Every day, the streets fill with pilgrims and the sound of prayers echoing from the shrines. Yet beneath all this devotion, there is growing emptiness.

Since the failure of the 2015 nuclear deal and the tightening of sanctions, Iran’s economy has crumbled. Families struggle to afford food, jobs are scarce, and frustration runs deep. Many have begun to question the promises of our leaders — and the version of Islam that was supposed to deliver peace and prosperity. In the silence of disappointment, God is speaking.

Even here, in the spiritual stronghold of the Islamic Republic, Jesus is revealing Himself. I’ve heard stories of clerics who have met Him in dreams, of students secretly reading Scripture, and of quiet gatherings where worship rises in whispers. Qom, once known only as a center of religious power, is becoming a place of divine encounter — a hidden launching point for revival across Iran.

The same streets where pilgrims seek answers are becoming pathways for the gospel. The Lord is at work in the heart of this city, calling His people to life, light, and truth.
