S\u00f3lo los musulmanes pueden entrar a la ciudad, y millones llegan para el Hajj (peregrinaci\u00f3n) anual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Masjid al-Haram (Mezquita Sagrada) central, que data del siglo VII, rodea la Kaaba, la estructura c\u00fabica cubierta de tela que es el santuario m\u00e1s sagrado del Islam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Islam se origin\u00f3 hace aproximadamente 1.400 a\u00f1os en la naci\u00f3n de Arabia Saudita cuando su fundador, Mahoma, declar\u00f3 que no deber\u00eda existir ninguna otra religi\u00f3n en la Pen\u00ednsula Ar\u00e1biga.
