Welcome to Light in the Story! – 10 Days of Prayer for the Hindu World 2025

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
- Matthew 5:16

We’re so glad you’re here! This 10-day prayer journey is designed for all children everywhere, but especially for children under the age of 13 and others who want to pray with them. Together, we want to discover the amazing stories Jesus told and to join believers around the world in united prayer.

From Friday 17th October to Sunday 26th October, each day of the guide focuses on a powerful theme - like Lost, Peace, Treasure, Courage, and Future. Children will read one of Jesus’ parables, reflect on it, pray a simple Spirit-led prayer, and enjoy fun action ideas they can do at home. There’s also a short memory verse each day, plus a worship song to sing along with.

You can use this guide as a personal or family devotion time in the morning, at bedtime or when you pray with others. Each page is packed with color, creativity, and opportunities to grow in prayer together

And here’s something really special - the prayers of children are a BIG part of a global move of prayer! Every day, adults around the world are also praying - especially for the Hindu world, that children and families will come to know Jesus, the true Light of the World. This Guide is designed to help children find simple ways to join in with these global prayers, lifting their voices in unity with believers around the world.

We believe God will speak to and through children as they pray - and will inspire parents and other adults as they join them.

So grab your Bibles, and some colouring pens, and maybe even a bowl of snacks… because this October, we’re going on an adventure with Jesus’ stories together!

As John 8:12 reminds us:
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Let’s pray, play, and praise - together as God’s Big Worldwide family!

Our prayer is that you will be blessed and encouraged as you spend these 10 days with us.

Why Are We Praying for the Hindu People?

You might be wondering, “Why are we praying for the Hindu people every day during this adventure?” That’s a great question - and the answer is amazing!

There are over one billion Hindu people in the world today. Most live in India and Nepal, but there are Hindu families in many other countries too - places like the UK, USA, Kenya, and even right near where you live. Behind all the colorful festivals, busy temples, and daily prayers are real people - moms and dads, children and grandparents — and God loves every single one of them.

The Bible says God created all people in His image (Genesis 1:27). That means every Hindu child is wonderfully made and special to Him. But many Hindu people don’t yet know Jesus, the true Light of the World. During the Hindu festival of Diwali, houses and streets are filled with lamps and fireworks to celebrate “light winning over darkness.” But only Jesus can bring the real light that never goes out.

That’s why we pray! We ask God to show Hindu families that He sees them, loves them, and sent His Son Jesus to save them.

Your grown-ups might be praying for some big things too - for the Gospel to spread in India, for children to hear about Jesus, and for whole families to follow Him together. You’re not too young to join in! When kids pray, heaven listens.

Think of it like being part of a big team: the adults are praying, pastors are praying, churches around the world are praying - and you get to join them! God loves to hear children pray! Every time you pray, you are shining God’s light into the Hindu world.

So as you go through this adventure, remember: your prayers matter. God hears you. And you’re helping write a beautiful story - one where Hindu children and families discover just how much Jesus loves them.
