I walk the streets of Almaty every day, surrounded by the snowcapped Tien Shan mountains and the hum of a bustling city. This is Kazakhstan’s largest city, once our capital, and still the heartbeat of our nation. We are a people of many faces and tongues—Kazakh, Russian, Uighur, Korean, and more—all trying to find our place.

Our land is rich with oil and minerals, but our greatest treasure is our youth. Half of Kazakhstan is under 30. We are restless, searching. Even our very name tells the story: Kazakh means “to wander,” and stan means “place of.” We are a people of wanderers.

For more than 70 years we lived under the shadow of the Soviet Union, our faith and identity pressed down. But today, as our nation rebuilds, I see hearts longing for more than national freedom. I see a hunger for a home that no government can give.

This is why I follow Jesus. In Him, the wanderer finds rest. In Him, the lost find home. My prayer is that Almaty—my city, my people—will discover not only freedom of the body, but freedom of the soul in the arms of our heavenly Father.

- Pray for the Unreached in Almaty: In Almaty’s streets I hear Kazakh, Russian, Uighur, and more—languages of peoples who have yet to hear the Gospel. Pray for the advance of God’s Kingdom in every tongue and tribe here. Romans 10:14
- For Intimacy and Abiding: Pray that every disciple and leader here would remain deeply rooted in intimacy with the Father, abiding in Jesus above all else, and not letting ministry busyness distract from His presence. John 15:4-5
- For Wisdom and Discernment: Ask God to give us supernatural wisdom and Spirit-led research to recognize the strongholds and spiritual dynamics in Almaty, so that our intercession and outreach strike with precision and power.James 1:5
- For Bold Witness and Miracles: Pray that the Holy Spirit fills disciples here with words, actions, signs, and wonders—that when we pray for the sick, broken, or oppressed, God would move in power, opening hearts to the Good News. Acts 4:30
- For the Youth of Kazakhstan: With half of our nation under 30, pray that the next generation will rise with courage, faith, and vision—bold enough to carry the Gospel to every corner of Central Asia. 1 Timothy 4:12
