Paul’s prayer for Israel is a heart cry for the nation’s salvation: ‘Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.’ (Romans 10:1). The mystery revealed in Romans 11 shows that the hardening of Israel is partial and temporary, with a promise that when the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, all Israel will be saved. As it is written, ‘The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will banish ungodliness from Jacob.’ (Romans 11:26-27).

From the time of Babel in Genesis 11 Jews have been scattered across the nations. Pray for followers of Jesus to have hearts open and be ready to befriend Jewish people and their communities that the Jews living in these nations would have their eyes opened to know Jesus as Messiah.

In 722 BC the Israelites of the northern kingdom were exiled to Assyria and Assyrians were brought to Israel, where they mixed racially with the Jews to become the Samaritans. God has always been determined to see Israel become faithful not only to Him but also to His mission purpose. After the Jews returned to Israel from captivity, God’s missionary purpose was carried out through the Diaspora (dispersion). During this time, a faithful remnant of the Jews spread God’s name amongst the nations.

Today the highest populations of Jews are found in these cities, New York, Paris, Vancouver, London, Moscow and Buenos Aires. During the year we pray intentionally for 110 key cities where we see Kingdom movements of disciples multiplying.

Testimony:

In Tehran, an Israeli believer prayed in Hebrew for Iran, and an Iranian leader responded by praying in Farsi for Israel. Later, during a Nowruz celebration, 250 Iranians and Afghanis heard the Gospel—35 requested Bibles. This is a picture of healing and unity in the family of God.
